   General issues
 
 
  • Beech lumber assortments as boards and planks are produced edged, partially selvedged and unselvedged.
  • Lumber pieces shall be perpendicularry on longitudinal axle head-cutted and faces shall be plane and parallel.
  • Beech lumber is delivered steamed and unsteamed as the contract parties agree.
  • After the defects beech lumber is sorted in quality classes :
  • Boards are sorted in 3 classes – A, B and C
  • Planks are sorted in 3 classes – A, B and C
  • Quality class establishment is done based on the weaker lumber face and edge if the difference between the two faces or edges is not bigger than 1 quality class.

    If a lumber piece has one A class face or edge and the second face or edge is of C class the lumber piece is sorted in the B class quality.
