Quality description of B class in romanian standards.
B class is a middle quality in romanian classification.

 
 
Defects
Admission conditions
Healthy knots not considered the through knots with size up to : 30 mm admitted, on each meter, max. : 3 pieces  with the size of : 31…70 mm

-at edged and semi-selvedged pieces knots with max. double size, but 50% less in number from those limited admitted
-at edged pieces, without other defects, double sized knots are admitted but 50% less in number
-at pieces with length bigger than 3 m, on the piece part which is surpassing this length 1 knot is admitted additionally with max. size of 80 mm
-at unselvedged pieces, knots on edges are not considered

Unsound knots in the place of limited admitted healthy knots :
- knots with size under 15 mm are not considered
- max. 3 knots/ 2m size max.70 mm
- double sized knots are admitted with 50% less in number
Shakes
a.frost shake - admitted on both faces max. 3pieces/m  with cumulated length of max. piece‘ s breadth
b. ring shake - admitted if in their length is not surpassing 1/2 from piece‘ s breadth and in depth 1/2 from piece' s thickness
c. shallow shake - admitted
d. unthrough shake - admitted on faces and sides if their cumulated length is under 1/2 from piece' s length
e. through shake -admitted, on both heads, at pieces under 24 cm of breadth and shorter  than 3 m, with cumulated length of max. 1+ ½ piece‘ s breadth
-admitted on both heads at pieces with the length bigger than 3 m, with the cumulated length of max.:2 x piece‘s breadth
-at pieces with breadth bigger than 24 cm, admitted at max. 10% of quantity, right shakes, at heads, on a cumulated length of max. 1/2 from piece‘s length, if from separeted by shake parts might be obtained by selvedging pieces with min. 8 cm breadth.
Hearth at selvedged pieces :
- admitted on a face and edge if  the piece doesn‘ t have any other defects
- admitted at semiselvedged and unselvedged pieces
Slope of grain - admitted at selvedged pieces if is not surpassing on each m
100 mm
-not considered at semiselvedged and unselvedged pieces
Inbark admitted through, with max. length of ½ of piece‘ s breadth without surpassing, cumulated with frost cracks and unsound knots, 3 defects/m
Red hearth admitted with desintegration traces
Other colouration than red hearth admitted, if without desintegration traces
Mould and storage stains admitted in sporadic appearances with depth not bigger than 2 mm
Sap rot not admitted
Insect holes not admitted
Wane at selvedged pieces  admitted on both sides, if not bigger than ½ of  piece‘s width, provided that sawn face shall not be under 0,8 from piece' s breadth
Simple bow admitted if the arrow is not bigger than 3 mm on each meter of  length
Spring admitted 
- at selvedged pieces, if  the arrow/meter of length is not bigger than 20 mm
- at semiselvedged and unselvedged pieces if  the arrow/m of length is not bigger than 40 mm
Cup admitted if the arrow is not bigger than :4 mm at pieces with breadth of max. 15 cm; 7 mm at pieces with breadth over 15 cm
Twist admitted on each length meter 2,5 mm
Coarse cut admitted at unselvedged pieces, with length under 15 cm and with the breadth under ½ from piece breadth at a single head.
